Signature size for online forms

Almost every application asks for a scanned signature, and the rules are strict. Bank exams by IBPS, SBI and RBI want exactly 140 x 60 pixels between 10 and 20 KB. SSC asks for 4 x 2 cm in 10 to 20 KB. NTA exams accept 4 to 30 KB, and UPSC 20 to 300 KB. The tool above has these sizes as one tap buttons, and you can type any other size.

Two ways to make your signature

1. Photo of a signature on paper

  1. Sign on plain white paper with a black or dark blue pen. Make it a little bigger and darker than usual.
  2. Take a photo from straight above, in daylight, without your shadow falling on the paper.
  3. Choose the photo, crop tightly around the signature, and keep Make paper pure white on.
  4. Press Create file and download.

2. Sign on the screen

No pen or paper nearby? Tap Sign on screen and sign with your finger or a mouse. You can choose black or blue ink and a thin or thick pen, undo a stroke, or start again. The signature is placed on a pure white background automatically.

Some exams want your signature exactly as you sign on paper, and it must match what you sign in the exam hall. If you sign on screen, make sure it looks like your usual signature.

What "Make paper pure white" does

A phone photo of paper is never truly white. It has shadows, a yellow or grey tint and sometimes the texture of the paper. All of that makes the signature look dirty and wastes KB. The tool measures the paper brightness across the whole photo, evens out shadows, and turns everything that isn't ink into pure white. The ink stays dark and crisp. This is also why the file easily fits in 10 to 20 KB.

Signature rules most forms follow

  • Sign in running hand, not in capital letters. Many notifications reject signatures written in block capitals.
  • Use your full usual signature. Initials alone are often not accepted.
  • Only the candidate should sign. A signature by anyone else can lead to cancellation.
  • The signature in the exam hall and on the attendance sheet must match the uploaded one.

Thumb impression

Bank exams also ask for a left thumb impression, 240 x 240 pixels in 20 to 50 KB. Press your thumb on a blue or black ink pad, then firmly on white paper. Photograph it, choose it here, and set the size to 240 x 240 and 20 to 50 KB, or use the IBPS page where it is already set.

Frequently asked questions

What is the signature size for IBPS?

140 x 60 pixels, between 10 KB and 20 KB, in JPG format. SBI and RBI use the same size.

My signature comes out under 10 KB. Is that a problem?

The tool fixes it. When the minimum is 10 KB, it adds invisible padding so the file reaches the range.

Can I sign with a blue pen?

Yes, dark blue is fine. Avoid light blue ball pens and pencils, which look faint after compression.

Is my signature uploaded to your server?

No. It is processed in your browser and never leaves your device.
