About the NEET upload rules

NEET UG is conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to MBBS, BDS and other medical courses. Its application asks for more image uploads than most exams: a passport size photo, a postcard size photo (4 x 6 inches), a signature, an image of the fingers and thumb impressions of both hands, and a category certificate where applicable.

NTA does not fix the pixel size of the photos, but gives file size limits: 10 to 200 KB for photos and impressions, and 4 to 30 KB for the signature. The postcard photo should show you from the head down to the chest, with a white background. The tool below has each upload as a separate button so you don't mix them up.

How to make the NEET photo

  1. Take the photo in daylight, facing a window, against a plain white or light wall.
  2. Keep your face straight with both ears visible. Remove caps and dark glasses.
  3. Open the tool above, tap Postcard size photo (4×6 in) and choose your photo.
  4. Drag the photo so your face sits inside the oval guide, then press Create file.
  5. Check that the result shows 600 x 900 px and 10 to 200 KB, then download it.

How to make the NEET signature

  1. Sign with a black or dark blue pen on plain white paper. A thick, steady line reads best.
  2. Take a photo from straight above in good light, without your shadow on the paper.
  3. Tap Signature above, choose the photo and crop tightly around the signature.
  4. Keep Make paper pure white on. It removes shadows and grey paper.
  5. Download the file. It will be 400 x 160 px and 4 to 30 KB.

No paper nearby? Use Sign on screen in the tool and sign with your finger. Some exams want a signature on paper only, so check the notification if you are unsure.

Left thumb impression (800 x 400 px, 10 to 200 KB)

Press your left thumb on a blue or black stamp pad, then on white paper. Photograph it from above and use the tool's thumb option. Keep the paper clean pure white setting on so the ridges stay clear.

Category certificate (PDF)

Scan or photograph every page, add them to the PDF tool above in order, and it will join them into one PDF of 50 to 300 KB. Make sure every word is readable before you upload.

Common reasons NEET uploads get rejected

  • The file is a few KB over the limit because it was compressed on a different site that counts KB differently. This tool stays safely inside both ways of counting.
  • The photo is stretched because it was resized without cropping. Always crop to the right shape first, as the tool does.
  • The background is busy or dark. Use a plain light wall, or the FormKit app's white background option.
  • The signature is faint or on lined paper. Sign darker on plain paper.
  • The file is PNG or HEIC instead of JPG. Files made here are always JPG.
