About the NSP upload rules
The National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in) handles central and many state scholarships, including pre-matric, post-matric and merit-cum-means schemes. Depending on the scheme, you may need to upload income, caste and bonafide certificates, marksheets and fee receipts.
NSP and most state scholarship portals limit each document to around 200 KB, and they usually want a PDF. If your certificate has several pages, or you only have phone photos of it, the PDF tool below joins them and brings the file under the limit.
NSP photo and signature size table
| Document | Pixel size | File size | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supporting document (PDF) | Any (PDF) | up to 200 KB |
Supporting document (PDF)
Scan or photograph every page, add them to the PDF tool above in order, and it will join them into one PDF of up to 200 KB. Make sure every word is readable before you upload.
Common reasons NSP uploads get rejected
- The file is a few KB over the limit because it was compressed on a different site that counts KB differently. This tool stays safely inside both ways of counting.
- The photo is stretched because it was resized without cropping. Always crop to the right shape first, as the tool does.
- The background is busy or dark. Use a plain light wall, or the FormKit app's white background option.
- The signature is faint or on lined paper. Sign darker on plain paper.
- The file is PNG or HEIC instead of JPG. Files made here are always JPG.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to make my NSP photo here?
Yes. The tool works inside your browser. Your photo is never uploaded to any server, so nobody else can see it.
Where can I check the latest NSP rules?
On the official website (scholarships.gov.in) in the current notification. Sizes can change between years, so check before you upload.
