About the CTET upload rules

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted by CBSE for teaching posts in central government schools. The CTET form asks for a photograph of 3.5 x 4.5 cm between 10 and 100 KB, and a signature of 3.5 x 1.5 cm between 3 and 30 KB.

Because CTET gives the size in centimetres, people often get the pixel size wrong. At 200 DPI, 3.5 x 4.5 cm is about 276 x 354 pixels and the signature is about 276 x 118 pixels, which is what the tool below uses. If your notification gives a different DPI or size, change it in the tool.

How to make the CTET photo

  1. Take the photo in daylight, facing a window, against a plain white or light wall.
  2. Keep your face straight with both ears visible. Remove caps and dark glasses.
  3. Open the tool above, tap Photo and choose your photo.
  4. Drag the photo so your face sits inside the oval guide, then press Create file.
  5. Check that the result shows 276 x 354 px and 10 to 100 KB, then download it.

How to make the CTET signature

  1. Sign with a black or dark blue pen on plain white paper. A thick, steady line reads best.
  2. Take a photo from straight above in good light, without your shadow on the paper.
  3. Tap Signature above, choose the photo and crop tightly around the signature.
  4. Keep Make paper pure white on. It removes shadows and grey paper.
  5. Download the file. It will be 276 x 118 px and 3 to 30 KB.

No paper nearby? Use Sign on screen in the tool and sign with your finger. Some exams want a signature on paper only, so check the notification if you are unsure.

Common reasons CTET uploads get rejected

  • The file is a few KB over the limit because it was compressed on a different site that counts KB differently. This tool stays safely inside both ways of counting.
  • The photo is stretched because it was resized without cropping. Always crop to the right shape first, as the tool does.
  • The background is busy or dark. Use a plain light wall, or the FormKit app's white background option.
  • The signature is faint or on lined paper. Sign darker on plain paper.
  • The file is PNG or HEIC instead of JPG. Files made here are always JPG.
